The Casal de Barri Joan Alcover, located at 28 Joan Alcover Street, is a cultural centre that was born in 2010, giving a little more life to this neighbourhood of Palma. It is a modern two-story building with a large courtyard dedicated to sports. In 2017 the Palma City Council ceded the centre to AAVV Ses Veles, which manages the centre’s activities. Amadip Esment Fundació has been collaborating since 2012, the Esment Guies team provides support in the tasks of management, administration, citizen service and revitalization of the neighborhood.

The main activities that are currently taking place at the Casal de Barri Joan Alcover are various courses and workshops, such as pilates, belly dancing, salsa, zumba, tai-chi, maintenance gymnastics, English, German, computers, sewing workshop…

Gatherings and debates are also scheduled for different ages and interests. For all those who love reading, on the ground floor of the house there is a table full of books and magazines that can be used for free.

The library, which belongs to the Palma City Council, operates independently from the center and has 4 employees.

The Casal is open to the public from Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
