The Casal de Barri Joan Alcover, located at 28 Carrer de Joan Alcover, is a cultural center founded in 2010, bringing a little more life to this Palma neighborhood. It is a modern, two-story building with a large courtyard dedicated to sports. In 2017, Palma City Council transferred the center to the Ses Veles Association of Community Associations (AAVV Ses Veles), which manages the center’s activities. Amadip Esment Foundation has been collaborating with the center since 2012. The Esment Guies team provides support in management, administration, customer service, and neighborhood revitalization.
The main activities currently taking place at the Casal de Barri Joan Alcover include various courses and workshops, such as Pilates, belly dancing, salsa, Zumba, tai chi, strength training, English, German, computer skills, and a sewing workshop.
Discussions and debates for different ages and interests are also scheduled. For all those who love reading, there is a table on the ground floor of the Casal filled with books and magazines that can be used free of charge.
The library, which belongs to the Palma City Council, operates independently of the Casal and has four employees.
The Casal is open to the public Monday through Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The Casal de Barri Joan Alcover is a cultural center where we want you to feel identified and where it can be your leisure spot close to home!
