A project that promotes more human, inclusive, and person-centered care.
“How I want you to treat me” is a training talk led by people with support needs, aiming to promote respect for dignity and universal accessibility for people with disabilities and developmental disorders in various settings.
The initiative emerged in 2023, in response to the shared need between healthcare professionals and patients with disabilities to improve relationships and communication during medical visits and to create comfortable and safe spaces for people with support needs. From there, the project has expanded to other areas such as education.
During the talk, participants share proposals and tools that help create more understanding and accessible environments.
Main objectives
1.- Provide professionals with tools to improve their treatment and communication with people.
2.- Foster more accessible environments.
3.- Guarantee equal opportunities in public services.
